5 months old!

Well, we have made it this far!! Who knew being parents would change your world like this? Certainly not me, but we love this little man so much!! :) We have all survived 5 months and though things continue to perplex and confuse, we love this little guy. He brightens our days and interrupts our nights! ;) We sure love you, Kybo!

His new trick (though DaLynn saw it forever ago) is that he rolls over. Not often and not always, but this morning I put him on his tummy and he immediately popped over to his back. When I squealed with delight from seeing his new trick, he didn't share my exuberant reaction. :) Yea Kybo! You are getting so big!

Remembrance

Do you remember the birthday rules? Hint: "I get whatever I want all day long". Well, those days apply to other days of the year i.e. Mother's Day, Father's Day and (drum roll, please) Veteran's Day. That is the reason for tonight's post. Please forgive if I get a little teary. It is a subject that is near and dear to me. We have been involved in war for so many years now that I have lost track. However, I have not, nor will I ever forget those men and women who have sacrificed so much for us. Justin came home safe and every day I thank God for that. Thank you, Justin. Thank you for the sacrifice you made. Thank you for the years, sweat and tears you gave. I love you.

I hope that Veteran's Day is not the only day of the year that we take some time to thank those Veterans in our lives who have fought for us to have the freedoms we do. Let's remember that there are those who did not come home. They have given all they had to people in lands far away from ours. Let's remember them as well.

There are so many things that have happened recently that put our soldiers on the news again. These are men and women who are willing everyday to go into harm's way to protect others. These are men and women who would jump in front of a bullet to save someone else. These men and women deserve much more than we give them. They are heroes, though many of them would never admit that. That is what i love in them. It is their job. They never think much of it. Just like a parent would give their life for a child, so too would these soldiers. But even if they come home, their battle is not over. We need to remember their constant struggle and their perseverance to deal with the daily symptoms that come from life at war or simply life in the military. Thank you.

I hope we each take a little time this Veteran's day to thank a Vet. Shake their hands. give them a hug. Let them know that their sacrifice is appreciated and valued. they may never tell you, but it will mean the world to them.

Thank you, Soldiers. Thank you. And to Justin, you are my world. I don't think I'll ever be able to say all that you mean to me, but I will continue to try. Thank you, Love. Thank you.

Tis the Season

Well, Halloween has past and the time for harvest is here. The leaves have fallen as has the temperature. Is that a happy thing? I suppose so. :) But the season of Christmas is just around the corner and so therefore it must be worth it.

Well, Kyler and I have survived our long vacation. It was a wonderful trip filled with Family, food and fun. The flights went well, and this little guy was born to travel. He loved the trip and it hardly threw off his routine. It really was wonderful! I expected people to be bothered by Kyler on the flight, but it was just the opposite. The attendants were wonderful and so accomodating! They oohed over his name and his sweet smile. They were more than willing to help with anything I needed and even understtod when I hoisted his car seat high over my head so I could move him in the plane easier. They would warn anyone that was around to duck or move out of the way to make it a bit easier for me. It really was incredible.

The other passengers were fun and loved cooing with him. They played and even said that when he did cry it was so precious that it was manageable. (I tend ot think that that was becuase he never had one of his 20 minute meltdowns.)

My unabashed plug for Southwest Airlines is this: FLY THEM!!!! They were wonderful expecially with kids. Bonus: THEY DON'T CHARGE FOR BAGGAGE!!!!!

Getting home was so nice. It was late and Kyler woke up just as I laid him in his crib. Justin saw his sweet little eyes and then got up the next morning to feed him. Kyler smiled as soon as he saw him. He's starting to get used to being home: not as many people doting over him, can't be held the whole time, but getting to see Daddy and back into the comfort of home. I think he's happy. Which is a huge plus since his little teeth are starting to make his gums very sore as they prepare to pop through.

So, we are three weeks away from Thanksgiving and Just 4 or 5 weeks from Christmas.... WOW! Where did the year go?!? The only thing left to say at this point is Happy Holidays!!!

Well, Halloween was NOT disapointing.

Kyler and I went out and helped Dad rake leaves this morning.

Kyler loved hanging out in a pile of leaves!

Then I worked all day to get ready for the party. We had Jekyl and Hide cookies (vanilla and chocolate mixed cookies with M&M's), Chocolate mint cookies, Chex mix, chocolate dipped pretzels and homemade root beer!!! It was quite the spread.

When it was time for costumes, Ryan and Ashley dressed up as Grecians in togas. Kyler was a dinosaur and I was Robin from Batman.
We all went and Trick or Treated about 6 houses. It was freezing! We got back to the house just in time for Ry's friends to show up and play for a bit. We laughed and played and then the real party started. We hung donuts from a string across the doorway from the living room to the music room. Then we had as many people as would try eating donuts with their hands behind their backs! Oh man! The videos are to die for!I waited for two hours for the video to upload. It won't. So I'll put it on here later.

After Trick or Treating Kyler got really hot in his costume so I took him down to his onesie. Ash was holding him and realized how much they were dressed alike. So, we got him some leaves and got a picture of him in a "toga".

Well, when all was said and done we had a great time! The food was good, and we played hard.

Happy Halloween!!

Well the best children's holiday of the year is here!! I love the way that Halloween brings out the kid in all of us. I have been baking all morning getting ready for a big party tonight. The costumes are ready and so are the goodies (almost). All that is left is the cleaning. YUCK! But Kyler is his dinosaur outfit is going to take everyone's heart. I am going as Robin from Batman!!! The pictures will rock! We'll post them as soon as we have them. We are going trick or treating this afternoon and then we will sit down with the movie classics of "Goonies" and "Little Monsters"! What a night ahead!!! Happy Haunting!

Fun With Grandma and Grandpa!

Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Jim watched Kyler the other night while Ryand and I went to the theatre! The show was great, but the best part was coming home to a sleeping baby and video of how much fun he had with Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Four Months

Happy Halloween everyone! Kyler decided that in observance of this wonderful holiday, he wanted his pictures in his dinosaur outfit!! SO, here are some of the fun pictures of this not-so-little baby!! At his check up this month, he was 14 lbs, 3 oz, 24 1/4 inches long and his head was 42 cm in circumference!! He's super big now!!! But he's smiley and fun and we sure love him!!
